Hannah is a Melbourne-based illustrator. Working full time in commercial graphic design, her illustrations are a direct contrast to this. Her work is often inspired by the everyday relationship between women and social media and the images they choose to portray themselves to the world, an exploration of femininity through the use of form and playful characters. Her first group show will be this September as a part of Almost Solo V2, at in.cube8r gallery in Fitzroy.
More work can be found here on her Instagram and her prints are available to purchase here.
"My work always starts with a naive sketch that gets transformed into something else digitally, favouring a minimalist style, combining pattern and repetition. My first attempt at an illustrative series started last year and my work is inspired by women, and is really a celebration of women.
I find inspiration in the everyday and am constantly inspired by women's relationship to social media. I often create pieces around the everyday photos friends choose to upload, and the very real vulnerability that comes with the images we choose to portray ourselves to the world, a curious mix of self-expression vs curated personalities."
