Girls Rock! Melbourne Fundraiser

  • The Old Bar 74-76 Johnston Street Fitzroy, VIC, 3065 Australia (map)

Let’s pack out The Old Bar for a loud Sunday sesh full of punk, rock and grunge!

This female-driven lineup celebrating the power of music to create social change will feature:

Grunge giants Thrasher Jynx

Hardcore punk/grunge hybrid Monkey Grip

Alt-rock powerhouse Sub Rosa

Queens of queer punk Liquor Snatch

Politically fuelled hardcore punks Ding Dong Death Hole

The hauntingly beautiful songs of Stephanie Sabrinskas aka Alvie Brink (acoustic).

The gig will be raising funds for Girls Rock! Melbourne – a not-for-profit organisation that aims to empower girls and gender non-conforming youth through music.

Girls Rock! Melbourne (GR!M) will be running a school holiday program from January 9-14, 2017 for girls and non-binary youth aged 12-17. In the space of a week, campers will form their own band, learn an instrument, watch live performances, participate in creative workshops, and write an original song to perform at a gig on their last day.

GR!M’s camp will become a part of a worldwide movement of programs that promote creativity and self-confidence in female and non-binary youth and provide positive role models to help campers recognise, understand and respond to sexism.

Funds from the show will help make this amazing initiative possible!

$8 on the door.
